Report for Building GIS Capacity in State Health Departments Project Phase V is online now

This project brought together the Children's Environmental Health Initiative (CEHI) and State Health Departments in Florida, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina in a collaborative partnership under the advice and guidance of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD).

CEHI GIS Surveillance training Phase IV alumni have featured work published in Preventing Chronic Disease's GIS Snapshots. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are powerful tools for enhancing the surveillance, prevention, and treatment of chronic diseases. New York’s Division of Chronic Disease Prevention use GIS to identify counties and people at high risk for pre-diabetes.
